Q. What food do you recommend for a cat that throws up every other day? The vet has her on omeprazole. She is 16 years old and has moderate kidney disease.
A. Having a senior cat that throws up can be challenging. I believe a moist diet of a natural can food, freeze dried that would be hydrated or a raw diet would be very helpful. And if you are feeding a dry food I would suggest stopping that. You could even try some baby food with just meat, very easy on the digestive system. There is a product by Animal Essentials called Senior Support which also helps with the kidneys. They have a Probiotic and Digestive enzyme that works really well. Hopefully that is start for you, if you live nearby you could stop at the store and we could talk with you more and offer some samples of food for your senior kitty.
